Blusa de Crochê – Part 2 (Translation of Terms)

Welcome to “Part 2” of my translation of terms for this crochet top. I’m sure no one has been waiting around twiddling their thumbs hoping I post this, but alas, I am finally finishing it for anyone who may be interested and find it useful.

This pattern comes from Ana Maria Braga of Aprendendo Crochê. <– This link has both the video and the written instructions for the top, which you will have to follow while referencing the translation of terms below.

You can find the information about the materials needed and sizing for the top in Part 1 here. You should have two halves of the top completed now, ready to make the other shoulder and do all of the joining and sleeves.

1:04:40 in the video  Sew the two sides together as you did for the V Stitch shoulder. Before starting, measure approximately 20cm down from the top of the shoulder–this will be your space for the arm hole–use more than 20cm for a larger arm hole. You will only sew the side together up to this point.

1:08:50 in the video  Where it says “4º Passo” in the written portion, it is referring to the other side of the top. Measure 20cm down from the top of the shoulder, as before, and use a stitch marker. Sew up the side to this point to close the top.

Sleeves (Mangas)

Dc – double crochet p.a. – ponto alto
Ch – chain Corr. – corrente
 Double V st – 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc  p.v. duplo

 Quadruple V st – 4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc  p.v. quádruplo
Quintuple V st – 5 dc, ch 2, 5 dc p.v. quíntuplo

Turn your work inside out so that the seams are on the inside–the right sides of the 2nd round of petals should be on the outside for both halves of the top. You will work your sleeves this way, so all of the right sides are on the finished outside of the shirt.

1:15:50 in the video  Start at the seam, or the armpit, on the side with the V stitch shoulder. Make the double V stitches around each sleeve evenly–pattern calls for 8 double V stitches around, or 10 for a larger arm. 1:19:15 in the video–she counts this first round.

You can make the sleeve whatever length you like using this first round of the pattern. For full-length, 33 rounds is recommended before moving on in the written pattern. (Or until the sleeve is approx. 42cm. long.)

I completed 24 rounds and did not continue with the last few rounds because I did not want the sleeve to increase/bell and only wanted a 3/4 length sleeve.

1:23:45 in the video  The rounds for triple, quadruple, and quintuple V stitches are shown here.

RSCN0509.JPG

1:22:00 in the video  Here are video instructions on how to evenly space the first round when starting the other sleeve, the side with the petal shoulder. My photo below corresponds to this. Complete the second sleeve in the same way as your first.
